Appearance: Harley, while in the costume, wears white face makeup with black lipstick and a red and black Harlequin costume, complete with the hat with bells at the tips. Her body is completely covered in the costume, with frilly cuffs on her wrists, and black and red shoes (red shoe on the black leg of her costume, and black shoe on her red leg). Harley also wears a black mask over her eyes. As Harleen Quinzel (when she's being sneaky and in her civilian form), has blue eyes, blonde hair (usually pulled back into a ponytail), and she wears red lipstick. Clothing usually comes with a medical/lab coat and professional-looking clothing (which is to say, what she would wear when working at Arkham Asylum.)

Personality: Harley is a lot like the Joker in a lot of ways: she's pretty nutty, likes explosions, likes inflicting pain, all of the fun stuff that her love of her life loves. However, it's all really an act to please the Joker. She desires his acceptance and love, and goes to the extreme to get it. However, even though she's a total fruitcake due to her love-induced insanity, she retains her intelligence from when she was a psychiatrist at Arkham.

When a situation comes up that she needs to actually think things through to accomplish what she wants, Harley will think it through to get the best results possible. A good example of this is in the comic "Mad Love", when Joker had mentioned that pirahnas don't smile (a scrapped plan of his involved pirahna fish eating Batman alive), Harley thought of hanging Batman upside down so he could see the fish smiling as they bit into him. It backfired, but it still shows that she's able to think correctly and analyze situations when the situation calls for it.

Besides being nutty and (strangely) intelligent, she's also passionate in her wants. It comes with wanting to see results from her flirtations with Joker, really. Somewhere deep down, she wants to save him, though seeing him happy and smiling is always imperative with him. ...of course, this is usually drown out by how psychotic she really is.

Harley is also a huge kid at heart, seen watching cartoons with a zombified look in the Harley and Ivy comics. Minor practical jokes are fun as well as the kind that actually hurt people.

Abilities/Strengths: Harley is clever and conniving as the Joker is, able to think up elaborate schemes and plots to harm Batman or the general populace. Due to enhancements given to her by Poison Ivy in the form of an elixer of sorts, Harley is also quick and agile on her feet, stronger than she had been previously, and she's also immune to poisons and toxins (including Ivy's own poisonous touch). Harley is also driven by desire, which usually makes her stubborn until she achieves what she's going for (even if it doesn't work). She's also good at gymnastics, which come in handy when fighting.

Weaknesses: The Joker is her biggest weakness. All it takes is his flirting with her to send her into a fit of nothing but giggles and love. Other weaknesses include people faster than her, people who can use magic, people who can outsmart her, and those who are stronger than she is. Her strength may have been amplified, but there are always some who can take her down. Harley is also still human, so she can still die, just like everyone else can.

History: Harley Quinn wasn't always a psychotic criminal with an endless love for the Joker. In fact, she was a good girl, who got good grades throughout school, and during high school (or school in general) she was a gymnast. However when deciding her ultimate goal for school, Harleen Quinzel heard about The Joker and his criminal activity, how he was constantly put into Arkham Asylum and got out, and it was decided: she would become a psychiatrist to psychoanalyze him, find out what made him tick, what made him do what he did... and she would accomplish it. The only problem was the fact that her college thesis got a horrible grade. Since Harleen was so determined to get a good grade on her thesis to become an intern at Arkham Asylum to be able to talk to and speak to the Joker, she did something unthinkable: she blackmailed the dean of the university to change her grade to an A+.

This was the beginning of her downfall to become Harley Quinn.

Once she got her internship at Arkham, she met with Dr. Arkham to discuss private sessions with the Joker, so she could psychoanalyze him. While reluctant, Dr. Arkham gave her his permission, and soon, she was in the room with Joker, just herself and the crazed criminal. In their first session, he made a quip about her name, saying it sounded like Harlequin (which she would later remember.) During their sessions, he revealed (or rather, "revealed") that his father abused him when he was younger, and when he went to a circus with his father when he was a young boy, he saw his father laugh. It was apparently the only time he had ever seen his abusive father laugh, and so he decided he wanted to do the same, which only ended in a beating. Harleen felt sorry for Joker, and slowly but surely through their sessions, she fell more and more in love with him. However, she was found out by Dr. Arkham, her badge and license was revoked, and she was placed into her own cell. Harleen counted and waited for Joker to break her out, but he never came for her.

One day was different. The power shut off, and her cell door opened. An earthquake had hit, and knocked the power out, allowing Harleen to escape. Once she did and found the city in ruins, she made her way to a costume shop. It was here that Harley Quinn was truly born when she put on the perfect costume. After finding Joker and joining up with him, and getting incredibly close to him in a way he never thought was possible, Joker ended up drugging Harley and while there was a possibility of a sexual encounter that night (Harley recounts that she can't remember), the next day Joker ends up shooting off a rocket- with Harley inside it, with the intention to kill her.

Being the smart girl she can be, Harley figured out she could steer the rocket, and landed it in a park, where she was picked up by none other than Poison Ivy. Harley told Ivy of what had happened up until that point after she woke from a head injury, with Ivy taking pity on her. Ivy tells Harley that she herself can't do anything due to Batman, but Harley can get Batman and get the Joker back for his crimes against her, and gives her a mixture that not only grants her immunity to toxins and poisons, but gives her more strength, speed, and agility. Harley gets her revenge on Batman, and before ultimately killing the Joker, forgives him (after he apologizes). From that point on, she worked with the Joker, only trying to get closer to him to get him to return her love for him. His accident in a fight with the Bat only made her more desperate...
